I didn’t always want to be a therapist! I wasn’t even aware of what therapy was until later in life and I discovered this career by accident. As a child, I wanted to be a paleontologist because I thought dinosaurs were cool. When my fascination of dinosaurs was over, I wanted to be a writer. Through a variety of different jobs in different fields while trying to be a writer, I discovered my knack for connecting with others and that’s where I landed on being a therapist along with my own history of struggles with depression and anxiety. Don’t worry, I still write a lot… of clinical documentation.

Fun Facts About Me:
I am part of the communities that I serve and vow to create a safe space for differences to be celebrated and acknowledged rather than shamed, even for people who don’t identify with any of these communities!
No, it’s not and it’s not an initial for anything either. Yes, I do save a lot of time with only having to write/type two letters for my name.
I picked this name for many reasons:
‍
• Sunlight is crucial to the growth of plants to varying degrees based on their unique needs and I like to envision my clients as plants who are in need of figuring out what they need to grow and changing those conditions to help them grow to their fullest potential.
• It’s based off of a song by Red Velvet where the song is about a person feeling confused and scrambled (egg reference #1!) due to feeling pressured to move way too quickly and worrying about breaking themselves (egg reference #2) in the process. The song advocates for steadily moving at a pace you’re comfortable with and gaining clarity with our minds about what is “right.” I see therapy as a place to do all of that: to unscramble (egg reference #3!) out thoughts and move at our own pace that feels right just for us.Â
• It’s my favorite style of egg.
• For the astrology folks out there, my sun sign is Leo and Leo is ruled by the sun.
I graduated in 2019 and opened my practice in 2021. Before opening my practice, I worked with individuals of all ages in a variety of different settings, such as community mental health, nonprofit agencies, hospitals, outpatient treatment programs, and group practices.
